Embedded in the magnificent mountain world around the Hochgrat (1,834 m) and the Nagelfluh range, Oberstaufen is a true holiday paradise, year-round, at every pace.
Hiking
From gentle walks to high-alpine tours: over 250 kilometres of marked trails start around Oberstaufen. Easy valley paths begin right at our door; the Hündle gondola or the Hochgrat cable car bring you into the alpine world in minutes.
Nagelfluh nature park
The cross-border park between the Allgäu and the Bregenzerwald spans 405 km², making it one of the largest in Bavaria. Alpine pastures, mountain lakes, marmots and rare orchids, a region that has kept its quiet.
Schroth cure resort
Oberstaufen is the only Schroth cure resort in Germany. A holistic method of dry and drinking days, body wraps and gentle movement, proven for more than 200 years.
In winter
Four ski areas within a few kilometres, Hündle, Hochgrat, Imberg and Steibis. Skiing, snowboarding, cross-country or winter hiking. We are happy to advise.
Allgäu cuisine & pleasures
The Allgäu cheese route connects dairies, farm shops and alpine pastures along one of Bavaria's finest gourmet trails. Three farms are within a 20-minute drive, and the cheese arrives at our menu in the evening.
